We take cues from each other as we grow up, watching what other kids do and modeling our behavior according to what is acceptable by our peers. As females, whether we look at each other for comparison or look to each other for support depends on our upbringing. It has felt throughout my life that the tides are changing, and that women are no longer pitted against each other as often for the one "seat at the table," but that has not come without a fight. We each have our own battles to wage, whether internally, or in the larger societal context, but ultimately raising one another up will help us find our own way.
