In "At Attention," a group of boy and penguin scouts await the orders from their winged troop leader while others look on.

"Little Worlds" explores the relationships and constructed narratives of disparate characters and objects in surreal settings. Backgrounds are created with drawing materials (charcoal, conte crayon, graphite) and acrylic paint, with now real plan in mind. The only intentions are to create structure to support the characters and objects that will occupy the space and to create depth of field using layering of tinted glazes so elements recede. Once the background is finished, cut images are placed on the surface so they interact with the structural elements and each other in interesting and provocative ways. The result is a glimpse into a surrealistic and whimsical world, like looking into a fishbowl. The subjects are mostly oblivious to their observers, wrapped up in their own activities or watching each other.
